29 Oct Hate crimes and violence: We are here to help
We are here to help
Saturday’s shooting at the Chabad of Poway Congregation synagogue in California affects us all, whether directly or indirectly. We share the sorrow and feel for the victims and their loved ones.
Hate crimes and violence have increased over 50% since 2016. Incidents occurred in every state in 2017. This horrifying crime ended a week that included the shooting of two African-Americans in Kentucky and a rash of mail bombs.
Tragedies like this can increase anxiety and elicit stress reactions in people across the country. Fortunately, many employees and their families have access to immediate help and resources through their employer’s EAP. Now might be a good time to remind your workforce that the EAP is available 24/7 to help and support them in any way they need.
Our consultants are also available to discuss organization-wide initiatives around the broader issue of stress and anxiety and what employees can do to cope with these unsettling realities. Please contact us for a free consultation.
